Jeremy Bloomenthal is a US and UK qualified lawyer focused on international and domestic arbitration, with a background in litigation, corporate law, and commercial transactions. Prior to establishing his own practice in 2017, Jeremy was a member of the litigation and dispute resolution practices of international law firms in New York, Tokyo, and Geneva, also frequently acting for clients in corporate and commercial transactions.
Jeremy advises and represents clients, or serves as an independent tribunal secretary, in commercial and investment treaty cases administered by the ICC, ICDR-AAA, SIAC, PCA, LCIA, SCC, Swiss Arbitration Centre, KCAB, and JCAA, or conducted ad hoc (e.g., under the UNCITRAL arbitration rules), and held in London, Paris, Geneva, Singapore, Zürich, New York, Stockholm, Tokyo, and other venues. Subject matters include energy (natural gas, solar power, infrastructure), life sciences (pharmaceuticals, medical devices), technology, construction, banking, and defense. Jeremy has served as a tribunal secretary or assistant in more than 20 international commercial or investment treaty arbitrations.
Jeremy has served as an arbitrator (sole arbitrator and co-arbitrator) in more than 20 commercial and consumer disputes involving securities, financial services, hospitality, and travel. He continues to accept arbitral appointments.
Jeremy teaches international arbitration as an Adjunct Lecturer at New England Law | Boston.
Jeremy has significant experience advising clients on M&A, joint venture, joint development, and patent and technology licensing transactions. He is also experienced in the review, drafting, and negotiation of commercial contracts, such as distribution, subcontracting, supplier, confidentiality, and various vendor and services agreements. This background enhances his ability to understand the business contexts underlying commercial disputes.
Admitted to the bar in New York and Massachusetts, and a Solicitor in England and Wales, Jeremy is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and holds a Swiss LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement.
Jeremy is a member of the International Bar Association, the Law Society of England and Wales, the Swiss Arbitration Association, the London Court of International Arbitration, the U.S. Council for International Business Northeast Subcommittee, the Boston Bar Association, and other professional associations. He is listed on the SIAC Reserve Panel of Arbitrators, DIAC List of Arbitrators, HKIAC List of Arbitrators, as well as the rosters of various domestic US institutions.
