Jeremy Bloomenthal is a US and UK qualified lawyer engaged in cross-border disputes, corporate law, and commercial transactions. An independent attorney in the Boston area since 2017, Jeremy previously practiced at international law firms in New York, Tokyo, and Geneva, acquiring significant experience in litigation and international arbitration, as well as in corporate law, M&A, and transactional matters.
In his international arbitration practice, Jeremy advises and represents clients, or serves as an independent tribunal secretary, in commercial and investment treaty cases administered by the ICC, ICDR-AAA, SIAC, PCA, LCIA, SCC, Swiss Arbitration Centre, KCAB, and JCAA, or conducted ad hoc (e.g., under the UNCITRAL arbitration rules), and held in London, Paris, Geneva, Singapore, Zürich, New York, Stockholm, Tokyo, and other venues. Subject matters include energy (natural gas, solar power, infrastructure), life sciences (pharmaceuticals, medical devices), technology, construction, banking, and defense. Jeremy has frequently been appointed as a secretary to international arbitral tribunals composed of some of the world's leading arbitrators, including numerous commercial and investment treaty arbitrations chaired by Professor William W. Park.
Jeremy serves as an arbitrator in financial services disputes in the U.S. under the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) rules, as well as in travel-related consumer disputes in the U.K. under the Association of British Travel Agents (ABTA) rules and other sets of rules. He serves as sole arbitrator or wing arbitrator, including in expedited cases.
As a corporate and transactional lawyer, Jeremy has more than five years of experience advising on, conducting due diligence for, documenting, and executing M&A, joint venture, joint development, and patent and technology licensing transactions. He is also experienced in the review, drafting, and negotiation of commercial contracts, such as distribution, subcontracting, supplier, confidentiality, and various vendor and services agreements.
Admitted to the bar in New York and Massachusetts, and a Solicitor in England and Wales, Jeremy is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and holds a Swiss LL.M. in International Dispute Settlement.
Jeremy is a member of the International Bar Association, the Law Society of England and Wales, the Swiss Arbitration Association, the London Court of International Arbitration, the U.S. Council for International Business Northeast Subcommittee, the Boston Bar Association and other professional associations.
